Serious Illness Support
A serious illness - defined as a chronic, long-term or permanent physical or mental health condition - often places tremendous emotional and financial burdens on both the affected individual and his or her loved-ones. The myriad of challenges involved with caring for and supporting someone with serious illness forces families to confront challenges for which they are most often unprepared. JFCS offers professional support to individuals and families through individual and family counseling, and care management services (including transportation, financial assistance, and in-home support). JFCS' comprehensive approach helps families cope with the emotional stressors associated with serious illness, enabling them to achieve the highest possible quality of life.
