Special Needs Support
The Center for Special Needs of (JFCS) nurtures and supports individuals and families with special needs through a rich network of flexible services and programs designed to enhance access to needed care at any given point in their life, for as long as needed. JFCS helps those with special needs function to their fullest capacity and to the greatest extent possible at home, in school, and in the community. In addition, JFCS works to provide necessary social outlets and educational programming for those in the Philadelphia region.
JFCS’ Special Needs services help those with developmental or intellectual disabilities, from mild to profound. More specifically this can include people with cognitive limitations, learning disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Pervasive Developmental Disorders, social phobias/anxiety disorders, or Asperger’s Syndrome.
A Year of Program Impact:
210 individuals with special needs received care planning and supportive counseling services
133 (a subset of the 210 above) individuals with special needs participated in socialization programs
1,154 people participated in ReelAbilities Disabilities Film Festival
8 children attended Quest Therapeutic Camp for social Interaction, swimming, trips, and other activities
