Have fun while learning social skills!
JFCS is now offering an exciting, interactive way to learn and practice social skills and increase socialization in a supportive environment. Teens, ages 15-20, with Asperger’s, high-functioning autism, or social challenges, are invited to participate and experience one-hour educational workshops, followed by fun outings.
Topics Include:
- How to interact with peers and develop friendships
- How to read nonverbal communication and social cues
- conversation skills
- assertiveness and self-advocacy
- safety and healthy relationships
Following the events, there will be brief “wrap-up” sessions with a discussion about the ways in which these activities have provided helpful and meaningful social interactions.
Workshops will be held for 6 Sundays, 3/11/12, 3/18/12, 3/25/12, 4/15/12, 4/22/12, and 5/20/12. The cost will be $120 for the 6 sessions.
Participants MUST complete an initial assessment. Call 1.866.JFCSNOW (1.866.532.7669) for more information
This group was made possible through a generous grant from the Duffine Family Foundation.
