According to Nancy Fagan, the "Need Clearly Exists to Clarify the Issues Surrounding Reporting of Child Abuse."  The recent events involving the alleged sexual abuse of children by former Penn State University assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky and former Syracuse University assistant basketball coach Bernie Fine have made national and international news.

JFCS recently awarded nine High School Students scholarship awards which can be used for tuition, room and board, and other costs associated with attending college.  These students were publically honored at JFCS’ Annual Report and Board Recognition event.

Women of Vision Grants Effect Change for Women and Girls

Women of Vision members decided to fund a two-year pilot program developed by JFCS to address the growing problem affecting Jewish girls and teens who are victims, perpetrators and/or bystanders to acts of relational aggression, including cyber-bullying.

JFCS is pleased to announce that Counseling and Support Group services will now be offered to those in need at the Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy.   For over 156 JFCS has been providing services to those in need throughout the five county region.  These services are either offered at one of the various JFCS offices or in the homes of clients.

For JFCS clients, the rising cost of gasoline, home heating oil, food, and other household expenses make it increasingly more challenging to afford basic necessities let alone buy food and gifts for children to celebrate birthdays, and special occasions throughout the year.
