Direct Care Services

JFCS' services are always flexible, keeping in mind the needs of the individual and family and  can include weekly or bi-weekly visits by a social worker, who will work individually with a client, providing an array of services that will assist clients in their daily life .  Direct Care can include an array of functions that typically family members, friends or neighbors could provide, but are limited by time, their jobs or simply scheduling difficulties.  In addition, a family member, parent or caregiver might need a break from the on-going responsibilities of caring for a special needs individual. 

These services can include:

• Accompanying individuals to needed appointments and social events, and home visits as needed
• Driving to and from appointments and therapies
• Assistance with bill paying and money management, meal planning and preparation, grocery shopping, taking medications regularly and renewing medications, good hygiene and healthy living
• Companionship and socialization skills opportunities, respite care, errands, transportation to school and group activities as well as limited interaction with therapists and teachers
