Education and Outreach Services

Initiating innovative programs in collaboration with public schools, private schools, Jewish Day schools, synagogues, and other community organizations.

Education and Outreach Services (EOS) provides educational programs for students, parents and professionals. Utilizing best practices in prevention and early intervention the programs promote healthy behaviors and emotional well-being by increasing awareness, knowledge, strategies, and skills related to high-risk behaviors affecting youth.

Through research-based, educational prevention programs, EOS addresses important topics such as substance abuse, violence, teen pregnancy, and suicide. These programs provide services to young people so that they are better able to handle the age-specific challenges of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, bullying, violence, and sexual behavior. Workshops are also conducted for parents, teachers, and other professionals by highly qualified prevention specialists. Act 48 and Social Work CEUs are available for many of our workshops.

Program Highlights:

- Conducted 485 prevention and education programs to a total audience (some duplicated for multiple programs) of about 20,750 students and educators in over 60 schools in the Philadelphia School District and Jewish schools and programs in the surrounding area.

What our Clients are Saying:

“Best teacher out of the whole school.”  --Jacki, a student who participated in Project PRIDE

“JFCS hosted an awesome training with so much information. Things about Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder [FASD] were explained in an easy-to-understand way. I learned that all challenged children are not just doing things but could have FASD or another disorder and I now know how to get parents and teachers to recognize FASD as a real problem and issue.” --Ruth, school principal
