Senior Services

Helping adults over 65 and their families choose the best plan for them.

Senior Services provides frail, poor, and alone seniors with counseling, home-based assessments, help with doctor's visits, shopping, meal preparation and errands, as well as care management. JFCS is dedicated to encouraging both independence and self-determination for older adults and to helping them establish a secure and stable environment in their own homes and communities.

 Program Highlights from 2010:

  • 2,150 seniors, many of whom live below the Federal Poverty Level, received care management services, shopping assistance, volunteer support, or home care services.
  • 330 Holocaust Survivors received financial assistance with medical or dental needs and equipment, home repairs, applications for reparations, support groups, and care management.
  • 350 Holocaust Survivors attended social events with other Survivors, affording them the opportunity to reduce their isolation and to socialize among friends and peers.
  • 2,600 nutritious meals were delivered by JFCS to elderly clients.
